The State of Washington charged Jamie Lee Chaffin with third-degree assault after a gun that her 9-year-old son took a gun to school that went of and injured another student. The State dropped that charge and charged Defendant with unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon based on the fact that the man that she was living with at the time owned and kept firearms in his home.
