Plff, female age 43, shipping manager. Plff contended she was traveling on Highway 529, approaching the entrance to I-5 when her Cadillac was struck from the rear by the Def.’s 26-foot GMC cube truck. The Def. claimed he had left two car-lengths between his truck and a different vehicle. He looked down briefly to his truck and a different vehicle. He looked down briefly to change radio stations, and when he looked up, Plff had cut in front of him, eliminating his stopping distance. He slammed on his brakes, but was unable to avoid the collision.
Outcome:
Plaintiff's verdict for $48,100.00.
