Description:
Sexual Harassment/Retaliatory Discharge - Plantiff, one of Hewlett-Packard's top national sales representatives, filed a complaint with the EEOC claiming sexual harassment. She claimed that she was forced to go on a company retreat which she characterized as a "drunken orgy" where she was subjected to her district managers offensive language, excessive drinking, body shots, and two men publically urinating. She also claimed that the national sales manager was participating in this conduct and having intercourse in public view with a fellow employee. After she filed her EEOC complaint, Planitff claims that she was subjected to retaliation by being required to file weekly reports and having her sales territory reduced. Plantiff was thereafter terminated. After being discharged, the Plantiff, who was earning $100,000.00 a year, stated that she was unable to find work because Hewlett-Packard told other not to do business with her.
Outcome:
Verdict for Defendant. No sexual harassment. No retaliatory discharge.
