Albuquerque, New Mexico criminal defense attorney represented defendant charged with felony possession of ammunition.



Gregory Diaz, 34, of Farmington, New Mexico, was charge for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.



According to the plea agreement and other court records, on Oct. 3, 2018, Diaz sold a .40 caliber pistol to an undercover law enforcement officer. At the time, Diaz has four previous felony convictions in the State of New Mexico, including possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), attempt to commit residential burglary, child abuse and possession of a firearm or destructive device by a felon. As a convicted felon, Diaz could not legally possess a firearm or ammunition.



Upon his release from prison, Diaz will be subject to three years of supervised release.



The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated this case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jaymie L. Roybal and Jack E. Burkhead prosecuted the case.
