Joyce Reynold sued ShopRite on a premises liability
theory claiming that the injuries and damages that she
suffered from a fall in Defendant's Wharton, New Jersey
store was caused that the negligence of the store's
employees. Reynolds, age 49, suffered neck and spinal
injuries when she slipped in 2002 on a puddle of water
in an aisle at the Defendant's supermarket. Reynolds hit her head on the store's
tile floor and injured her neck. She received epidural injections and underwent
cervical surgery in 2004 which proved to be unsuccessful in relieving her
symptoms. She suffers from restrictions in her ability to move her neck and
can no longer lift heavy objects including bowling balls at the bowling alley
where she is a manager.
