Case Number: Unknown5/24/2006
Judge: Unknown
Court: Superior Court, Morris County, New Jersey

Deborah Wrede sued Dr. Richard Marfuggi on a medical malpractice theory claiming that he acted below the standard of care in performing breast reduction surgery on her in December of 2002. She claimed that Defendant assured her that he could reduce her breasts from DD-cup to a C-cup and relieve her of the back, neck and shoulder pain that she was experiencing. She claimed that as a result of the surgery virtually all of her breast tissue was removed and she now looks like she has had mastectomies.
Dr. Marfuggi denied wrongdoing. He further claimed that Wrede's obesity, history of smoking and other issues made her surgery difficult and the outcome problematic and that he was not negligent in performing the surgery that resulted in the remove of nearly 9 pounds of breast tissue.
