David and Mary Zinck, individually, and on behalf of the Estate of Mary Zinck and Neil Bornstein sued Gateway Country Store and William White for the death of Mary, age 16, and for the serious injuries, including brain damage, sustained by her boyfriend Neil in an automobile accident that occurred after White illegally bought beer from Gateway's store in Seabrook, New Hampshire. White was convicted of vehicular homicide after the accident and was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. White admitted liability.

David and Mary Zinck were awarded more than $7 million in damages for the death of their daughter Trista, who was killed. Her boyfriend, Neil Bornstein, who suffered a fractured leg, fractured skull and brain contusions in the accident, received $1.4 million. An additional $200,000 was awarded to his parents.
