Ramon Perez and Carla Perez sued the City of Wilmington claiming
that they were discriminated against by the defendant
because they were not black. The plaintiffs were married
and worked for the city sanitation department. Ramon Perez
claimed that he was harassed and forced to take a
lower paying job in the street department because he is Hispanic and Carla
claimed that was not given the same opportunities for
overtime and was ultimately was dismissed because she is
white.
The City denied that it discrminated against Plaintiffs.
