San Diego, CA - The People of the State of California charged Richard Sepolio, age 27, with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated with the result that four people were killed and others injured on October 15, 2016.
Evidence introduced during trial showed that Sepolio's pickup was going 81 mph shortly before it crashed through a guardrail and plunged into people attending a motorcycle rally at Chicano Park under the San Diego-Coronado Bridge.
The State claimed that Sepolio was intoxicated and talking on his cell phone just before the accident.
Outcome: The Defendant was found guilty on the manslaughter charges and not guilty on gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, reckless driving and driving over the legal over the legal alcohol limit causing injury.
