Description: Charlotte, NC: Employment law lawyer represented Plaintiff, who sued Defendant on a civil rights job discrimination (race) theory under 42 U.S.C. 2000e claiming that he his employment with Defendant was terminated because he was white and it wanted to diversify many of its top leadership positions.
Novant Health claimed that Duvall was fired because he had poor leadership skills, and that Duvall admitted in a deposition that he didn’t think that he was being discriminated against during his employment with Novant Health.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits race and gender discrimination in the workplace.
Novant Health employs more than 35,000 workers and has more than 2,300 doctors at nearly 800 locations in three states, according to its website. The company serves more than 6 million patients annually.
