Cowan was convicted, following a jury trial, of one count of online enticement of a minor and one count of distribution of indecent materials to a minor[1] for sending sexually explicit messages, including photographs of his penis, over Facebook Messenger to fourteen-year-old T.T. Cowan conceded the statutory aggravating factor that he was more than ten years older than T.T.[2] He was sentenced to a composite sentence of 10 years with 3 years suspended (7 years to serve).
