Fresno, CA - Parents of Michelle Coyne sued the Fresno Unified School District and Joshua Gehis claiming that wrongfully force Michelle, age 9, to do pushups and other exercises in front of other students for talking during a class lesson. Plaintiffs asserted by the teacher was a bully for making the frightened fourth-grader do calisthenics in from of students to publicly shame her.
The Defendants said that they were sorry and promised not to do it again.

Comments: Editor's Comment: The jury apparently concluded that the teacher had never been told not to humiliate students and just made a mistake. This is a "crazy jury" verdict.
