Indiana Felon Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Illegal Firearm Possession Following Inver Grove Heights Bank Robbery

An Indiana man has been sentenced to 120 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for illegal possession of a firearm.

On December 22, 2022, two men wearing masks entered a bank in Inver Grove Heights, zip-tied two bank employees, and stole nearly $80,000 in cash. The investigation into the bank robbery led law enforcement to execute search warrants on January 11, 2023, during which law enforcement searched Deundrick Damon McIntosh, 45, and a residence at which he had stored some of his belongings. On McIntosh’s person, law enforcement found money with serial numbers matching cash from the bank robbery. Inside the residence was McIntosh’s gun with an extended magazine, along with additional bait bills stolen from the bank.

Because McIntosh has prior felony convictions, including bank robbery and domestic assault, he is prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition at any time.

On November 13, 2023, McIntosh pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a felon. He was sentenced today in U.S. District Court by Judge John R. Tunheim.

This case was the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI, the Inver Grove Heights Police Department, and the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lindsey E. Middlecamp prosecuted the case.
