A private company that manufactures amusement rides, including the Sling Shot, Star Flyer, and Vomatron. Funtime was founded in 1998 and is based in Dölsach, Austria and Bundall, Australia. Ride Entertainment handles the distribution and operation of Funtime rides in North America.

Sampson, a football standout who stood 6 foot, 2 inches tall (1.9 meters) and weighed 380 pounds (172 kilograms), was visiting Orlando on spring break from the St. Louis area when he went with friends to the downtown amusement park.

The Plaintiffs claimed that the ride of defective and unreasonably dangerous.

Outcome: Plaintiffs' verdict for $310 million.
