The State of Alabama accused Carmen Kirkland of shooting and killing Precious Warren age 33, who was shot to death near Walnut Street in October of 2021. Kirkland and Warren allegedly shared a boyfriend, which led to the confrontation. Warren and Kirkland had children by the same man and Kirkland was pregnant at the time of the shooting.

Kirkland claimed self defense and claimed that Warren has attacked her multiple times and sprayed her and her two children with pepper spray.
