Description:

Dallas, Texas – Family Law lawyer represented Relator with two petitions for writ of mandamus.

Relator, Sheila Diane Coleman, acting pro se, filed two petitions for writ of
mandamus asserting that real party in interest, Gregory Eugene Saunders, “lacked
standing to file [a] Suit Affecting Parent-Child Relationship” and she “ha[d] been
and continue[d] to be the only fit-custodial parent” for her minor child.1
She further asserted that the trial court “abused its discretion by rendering decisions
and issuing [v]oid [o]rders, [j]udg[ments], and [w]rits without subject-matter
jurisdiction,” relator’s “liberty rights” had been violated, and relator had been
“trapp[ed] in unjust custody legal proceedings[] and without regard to [r]elator’s
parental rights.” She requested that this Court order the trial court to vacate its
temporary orders, a contempt order, a final decree of divorce, and a writ of habeas
corpus; dismiss the underlying case; and issue an order appointing relator as the
sole managing conservator of her minor child.

Outcome: We deny the petitions for writ of mandamus. All pending motions aredismissed as moot.
