Yolanda Banks-Reed and S.A.T., a minor, by and through her Guardian Ad Litem Ciara Turner, individually and as successor-in-interest to Decedent SAHLEEM TINDLE, sued Bay Arez Rapid Transit and Joseph Mateu, III under 42 U.S.C. 1983, claiming that Sahleem Tindle's civil rights were violated when he was shot and killed in Nateu at a Bart station in Oakland.

Tindle was killed at 4:41 p.m. Jan. 3, 2018 in the 1400 block of Seventh Street across from the West Oakland BART station.

An argument over Air Jordans preceded the fatal shooting.

Tindle was not armed.

Mateu testified that he thought that Tindle was armed.
