Attorney Matthew Turner is an exceptional advocate for his clients who need assistance in employment related cases including employee discrimination and wrongful discharge. Matt fights for the rights of his clients, understanding that his clients' rights are the most important part of his profession. Being able to provide for oneÃs family is paramount to the entire family. Matt also handles cases in many other areas and has also enjoyed a great deal of success in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, automobile negligence, premises liability, and assault and battery. He has developed a particular expertise in handling disability insurance claims. Matt has also successfully handled a variety of appellate cases and is very well established in the professional legal community.
During law school, Matt worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard Kuhn at the Oakland County Circuit Court. After graduation, Matt joined the family law firm of Turner and Turner, P.C. and began handling many different types of litigation. He has handled criminal trials, business litigation trials, employment discrimination trials, medical malpractice trials, insurance trials, dental malpractice trials, auto accident trials, slip and fall trials, and other cases of death and catastrophic loss. Matt has handled a number of appeals and has argued before the Michigan Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th circuit, and the Michigan Court of Appeals. Matt currently specializes in medical malpractice, legal malpractice, ERISA disability claims, employment discrimination, and other cases of catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death. Matt also handles commercial and business litigation cases. He has obtained a verdict in excess of a million dollars in a medical malpractice trial and has obtained a number of other highly successful trial verdicts and settlements. Matt is very well established in the professional legal community.
Matt also shares the firm's values of giving back to the community. Matt has served as a high school football coach for over 20 years. He began his coaching career at Bloomfield Hills Andover High School. He served as the offensive line coach, offensive coordinator, and assistant head coach at Birmingham Seaholm High School for 16 years. During that time the Maples won six league championships, made ten playoff appearances, won two district championships, and won one regional championship. In 1997 his team advanced to the state semi-finals. He served as the offensive line coach and offensive coordinator at Troy Athens High School in 2006 and currently serves as the offensive line coach and offensive coordinator at Birmingham Groves High School. Matt is married to Karen who is a teacher in the West Bloomfield School District. He has two children ages 9 and 7.
