Mr. Rintoul has a diverse business and litigation practice. He advises and represents many entrepreneurs and independent consultants on business and legal issues. He advises employers and employees regarding non-competition agreements and employment agreements in Connecticut. He advises and represents employees in a wide variety of employment matters as well. David has substantial litigation experience, having handled trials and appeals in state and federal court, and administrative hearings before many state agencies including the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the Freedom of Information Commission, and local zoning agencies. He has been class counsel in national and statewide class actions. He has an active real estate litigation practice in Connecticut, including zoning appeals, adverse possession, boundary line disputes, easements, and breach of contract. He also represents claimants in long term disability benefit appeals, for both group ERISA plans and private disability insurance. David regularly lectures and writes on a variety of areas. He has taught seminars in a broad range of employment and employee benefit matters for bar organizations and continuing legal education organizations. He has lectured nationally on business and legal issues involved with professional and consulting practices He is also a founder and member of CT 66 BNI, a chapter of Business Network International which meets in Marlborough, and serves the Route 66 corridor from Portland to Hebron. David is admitted to practice in Connecticut, and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association. He is on the Executive Committee of the Labor & Employment Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and is co-chair of its Employee Benefits and ERISA subcommittee. He is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University (B.A. 1983), School of International Advanced Studies, Bologna, Italy (diploma, 1981-1982) and the University of Connecticut School of Law (J.D., with high honors, 1986). He resides in Portland with his wife and two children, were he is a member of the Portland Democratic Town Committee and serves on Portland's Economic Development Commission. |
