Sara Smith joined Jones Gotcher in May 2006 as a law clerk and joined the firm as an associate after passing the 2007 Oklahoma Bar Exam. She graduated with a B.A. in International Business from the University of Oklahoma in 2004, and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa in 2007. Her primary areas of practice include business litigation, contracts, employment, and real estate law, and she is member of the Federal District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of Oklahoma.

While in attendance at the University of Tulsa, Ms. Smith was a member of both the ATLA and NTC trial teams, taking second place in the ATLA trial competition and a regional qualifier with the NTC trial team. She also was a member of the Tulsa Journal of Comparative and International Law, and held the position of Executive Editor. While she was a candidate for the Journal, her comment, The Free Trade Area of the Americas: Is There Still a Place for the World Trade Organization?, was selected for publication.

Ms. Smith was also an active member of the Student Bar Association. She was a recipient of a University Fund Scholarship throughout her three years of law school and was selected for the Dean's Honor Roll, while attending both, the University of Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa.
