Description: Medical malpractice - Franco Derungs went to Scripps Clinic with an earache and chest pains. Doctors treated the earache, but ignored the chest pains. He was treated for the earache but not the chest pains and died on a heart attack in January 2000. The plaintiffs claimed that that Derungs had suffered a heart attack, but the drive to keep costs down, and the rush to get patients out, forces doctors to make deadly mistakes.
