Description: Kack Kirby, as surviving spouse and next of kin of Jimmie L. Kirby, deceased, sued Dr. George Kurdelashvili, M.D. and Emergency Staffing Solutions, Inc. on medical negligence (medical malpractice) and respondeat superior theories claiming that on April 5, 2008, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Jimmie L. Kirby was admitted to the Arbuckle Memorial Hospital emergeny room which was staffed, at the time, by Dr. Kurdelashvili. An EKG performed immediately after admission showed an ST myocardial infarction. Dr. Kurdelashvile attempted to transfer Ms. Kirby and was advised to administer thrombolytics to the patient but did not do so and sent his patient to Norman Regional Hospital for care where she died on April 5, 2008.
Defendants admitted some of the allegations made by Plaintiff but denied wrongdoing.
Outcome: Defendants' verdict.
