Description: Tulsa, OK - The State of Oklahoma charged Austin Dewayne Nation with first-degree murder in violation of 21 O.S. 701.7 alleging:
AUSTIN DEWAYNID NATION, on or about 8/17/2014, in Tulsa County, State of Oklahoma and within the jurisdiction of this Court, did commit the crime of MANSLAUGHTER - FIRST DEGREE - HEAT OF PASSION, a Felony, by unlawfully, feloniously, and willfully without a premeditated design to effect, did effect the death of one Fernando Torres in a cruel and unusual manner and while the said defendant was in the heat of passion, in manner and form as follows, to-wit: by means of a knife and said defendant did then and there and thereby inflict certain mortal wounds in and upon the body of the said Fernando Tones from which mortal wounds the said Fernando Tones did then and there languish and die.
The information was amended and Nation was charged with first-degree murder.
Nation claimed self defense.
Outcome: Not guilty.
