Description: MADISON, WIS. – John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Bryan Cellarius, 47, Town of Jackson, Wis., has been charged with distributing, receiving, and possessing child pornography in a three-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury sitting in Madison. The indictment was returned by the grand jury on April 1 and was unsealed following the arrest of the defendant.
The indictment alleges that Cellarius distributed computer video files of child pornography on January 2, 2009, and that he received computer video files of child pornography on September 7 and 8, 2013. The indictment also alleges that on April 19, 2014, Cellarius possessed a laptop computer, thumb drives, and hard drives containing child pornography.
Cellarius was arrested on Friday, April 3. He made an initial appearance in federal court in Madison today, and a detention hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
If convicted, Cellarius faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years and a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
The charges against Cellarius are the result of an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation.
