Court: United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin

Description: MADISON, WIS. -- John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Bonnie T. Wolff, 29, Rhinelander, Wis., was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 90 months in federal prison, to be followed by a three-year term of supervised release, for unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon. Wolff pleaded guilty to this charge on January 15, 2015.

Wolff was arrested after she sold a loaded rifle to undercover officers on August 17, 2014. Wolff admitted that she stole the firearm from someone she knew.

Judge Conley chose a 90-month sentence because of Wolff’s extensive criminal history in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Wolff began committing crimes when she was 18 and she has been convicted of a felony drug offense and burglary.

The charge against Wolff was the result of an investigation conducted by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
