Description: Nafissatou Diallo, age 33, sued Dominique Strauss-Kahn, age 63, on a civil assault and battery theory claiming that she was assaulted by Defendant when she entered the luxury hotel room rented by him in New York City and forced to engage in oral sex with him. Defendant was removed from a France bound commercial airliner at Kennedy Airport and charged and held in the United States until prosecutors elected to drop criminal charges against him after determining that the prosecutrix was not a sufficiently trustworthy witness to go forward with prosecution.
Defendant denied the allegations made by Plaintiff and counterclaimed on a defamation theory.
Plaintiff asserted truth in defense of the counterclaim.
Outcome: Settled for an undisclosed sum and dismissed with prejudice.
