Description: DENVER – U.S. District Court Judge Raymond P. Moore sentenced former nurse Rocky Allen to serve 12 months in federal prison for felony criminal contempt of court, to run consecutive to his 78 month previous sentence, Acting U.S. Attorney Bob Troyer announced. Allen drove to Idaho prior to reporting to prison to visit family despite an order from Judge Moore prohibiting him from traveling there. In total, Allen will now serve 90 months in federal prison. Allen, who appeared at today’s hearing in custody, was remanded at the conclusion of the hearing.

Judge Moore previously sentenced former surgical technologist Rocky Allen to 6-1/2 years in prison for his theft of a syringe filled with powerful painkillers from Swedish Medical Center in Englewood.

Outcome: Guilty, additional 12 months added to previous 78 month sentence.
