He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Legal Studies. Mr. Gavito then attended St. Mary’s University School of law where he graduated in 2004 at the top of his law school class. He was inducted into the Phi Delta Phi Honors Fraternity. While in law school, Mr. Gavito was an associate editor for the St. Mary’s Law Journal. He began his legal training while still in law school. As a student-attorney for the St. Mary’s Law School Civil Justice Clinic, he provided pro bono legal services for low-income individuals. As a result of his exceptional work with the Clinic, he received the Francisco Leos Award for Excellence in Clinical Studies.
