Additional Information: Greg Jones has been trying cases for over thirty years in front of Texas juries in all parts of the state. He began his career with Fulbright & Jaworski in 1977 after graduating from St. Mary's University School of Law.

Soon after his first jury trial, Greg realized that he had developed a grand passion for litigation. The diversity of personalities, events, and legal principles fascinated him, both then and now. Since that time, lawyering has become second nature for Greg, and whether he is dealing with a complex contract dispute or prosecuting a personal injury action, solving clients' disputes is truly satisfying.

In a notable case, Greg represented a venture capital company headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, that entered into a written reverse merger agreement with a Houston emergency room physician group that utilized advanced telecommunications for remote operations of rural emergency rooms. The agreement contemplated a simultaneous public offering on the Canadian Venture Exchange (CDNX). The client contracted with a national, big-four accounting firm to conduct due diligence and prepare a business plan for the to-be-formed public company, as required of the CDNX. The accountant assigned to the engagement in Houston began an affair with the daughter of the president of the physicians' group and then convinced the president that he could negotiate a better deal for the group than the contract already in existence with the accountant's client. At mediation, just before trial, the case was settled on confidential terms.

Greg also represented the putative partner in a company operating in the Barnett Shale gas play of North Texas against a large Canadian public company that acquired the operating company and schemed to cut out the clients' ownership interest. The case was filed in Wise County, Texas, and a monetary settlement was made before trial.

In another suit by putative royalty owners against one of Greg's clients, an oil and gas operating company and Union Pacific Resources Company, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract was alleged related to mineral leases for horizontal drilling rights on property located in the Austin Chalk in Central Texas. After a trial to a jury in Fayette County, Texas, a take nothing judgment was entered in favor of the defendants.

Greg represented plaintiffs in a shareholders' derivative claim against a company providing long term acute ("LTAC") medical care, its lender and officers of the LTAC, who were also affiliated with the lender. Plaintiffs were founding shareholders and chief executives of the company, which had grown from zero revenues at start-up, to revenues in excess of $300 million by the time Plaintiffs were fired. The case settled upon the sale of the LTAC, resulting in a financial recovery for FCJ's clients.

He also led a group of FCJ attorneys on behalf of a class of homeowners against the operator of a production facility that, for forty years, dumped highly volatile organic chemicals into the ground water which migrated in contaminated plumes beneath the class members' homes, many of which are valued in excess of several million dollars. The case settled for Cooper Cameron's multi-year guaranty of market value plus the payment of attorneys' fees and costs.
