Expertise: Mr. Rice, CFI, CVFI, CFEI, PI is a company Principal and Electrical Engineer who investigates electrical faults and malfunctions, particularly those resulting in fire or damage. He has completed dozens of failure analysis projects related to various electrical equipment, including HVAC components, household appliances, electrical motors, transformers, control equipment, lighting fixtures / bulbs and wiring components, AC and DC drive systems and industrial power systems. As a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming as well as a Licensed Private Investigator in Montana. Mr. Rice’s experience includes field engineering with a focus on failure analysis, engineering redesign, fire investigations, and technical training for mechanical and electrical systems. He has conducted failure analysis investigations on five continents and worked in three foreign language environments. While employed in the mining and construction mining industry, he provided technical support and training for customers in the global market and was responsible for commissioning, testing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical components of various mining equipment, heavy equipment and vehicles (e.g. drive systems, AC drives, hybrid systems, motors, large hauling trucks, shovels and digital system controls).
