Adrian Jackson shot and killed Ben Howell during a confrontation between the two in Boynton, Oklahoma on May 8, 2026. Howell went to where Jackson was visiting with two other men to assault and batter him, but Jackson, who was afraid of Howell, retreated to a truck owned by his boss in an effort to avoid conflict with Howell. However, Howell followed him and verbally attacked Jackson and threatened to kill him. Jackson pulled a gun and shot Howell in the chest three times. Howell died as a result of his injuries.
