Tribal social services and tribal law enforcement received a report of possible child abuse of a then 8-month-old child. The child suffered a burn, broken bones, and bruising to the head and body. Louis Tucker, 24, and Nyomi L.D. Acosta, age 21, were responsible for the child’s welfare and did not seek medical attention for the child after the child was abused.

Outcome:

Tucker was sentenced to three years in prison and Acosta to one year and one day.
