The charges stemmed from an investigation that was initiated after an agent with the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) downloaded files containing child pornography from a peer-to-peer sharing network. The agent determined that the files came from an IP address that was registered to Ionetz. DCI agents obtained a search warrant for Ionetz’s residence where they seized, among other things, his computer’s hard drive.
Affirmed on appeal.
