Burlington, VT - The State of Vermont charged Steven Bourgoin, age 38, with five counts of second-degree murder and other charges relating to an auto accident caused by Bourgoin that result of the deaths of Mary Harris, 16, of Moretown; Cyrus Zschau, 16, of Moretown; Liam Hale, 16, of Fayston; Janie Cozzi, 15, of Fayston; and Eli Brookens, 16, of Waterbury that occurred in 2016 on Interstate 89 when Bourgoin drove the wrong way of the highway.
Bourgoin asserted insanity as a defense.
