Description:
Waynesboro, VA - The Family and Estate of Melanie Smith sued Dr. Antonio Baca and Augusta Emergency Physicians Group on wrongful death medical wrongful death and respondeat superior theories claiming that Melanie Smith died as a direct result of misdiagnosed.
Mrs. Smith, age 40, became dizzy and had slurred speech and her eyes were rolling on June 15, 2018. She was taken to Augusta Health Center arriving about 10:30 p.m. but no MRI, that confirmed that she was suffering from a stroke until the next morning.
She died on June 19, 2015 at the VCO Medical Center in Richmond.
The Plaintiff's claimed that the care that she received fell below the standard of care and denied her the chance of recovering from the stroke that she was suffering.
