Description:

Nine plaintiffs molested by Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Minister Gerald Patrick Thomas Jr. molested them between 1997 and 2001 while serving as the pastor of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshall, Texas. The boys also claimed that former Bishop Mark Herbener of the Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana Synod, and former bishop's assistant Earl Eliason, ignored warnings about Thomas' behavior. The victims also claimed that the congregation was not warned several incidents in which Thomas was accused of inappropriate behavior. He was eventually charged, convicted and sentenced to 397 year in prision.
