Description:
9-time illegal alien offender admits to unlawfully returning to U.S. again
A 33-year-old Mexican national has pleaded guilty to illegally reentering the United States, announced U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei.
Francisco Raymundo Dominguez-Sanchez was previously convicted twice of the same crime.
He was first removed in 2013 with eight subsequent removals between then and 2023.
On Jan. 28, Dominguez-Sanchez was driving northbound and approached the Border Patrol (BP) checkpoint near Falfurrias. During a routine immigration inspection, authorities discovered Dominguez-Sanchez to be an illegal alien who had been previously ordered removed from the country.
U.S. District Judge David Morales will impose sentencing June 25. At that time, Dominguez-Sanchez faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a possible $250,000 fine.
He has been and will remain in custody pending that hearing.
BP conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashley Martin is prosecuting the case.
