Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Juan Rivera-Rivera

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania charged Juan Rivera-Rivera, age 24, multiple counts of possession of heroin with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of herion and five counts of criminal conspiracy.



The Commonwealth also charged Adelaida Gaston-Vazquez, age 33, with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and seven counts of conspiracy.



Defendants were arrested after a search of their home after a six month investigation by a Drug Task Force.



Rivera-Rivera was found in possession of three packets of heroin and $233 in cash. Three additional bag of heroin were found in her car.



Gaston-Vasquez was found to have $650 but no drugs during a traffic stop. Seventeen bags of crack cocaine, nine bags of powdered cocaine, and 80 bags of heroin and $1,290 in cash were found during the search of his home.



Rivera-Rivera admitted to being a heroin addict but denied being a dealer.

Rivera was found guilty on one count of possession of Heroin with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of herion and five counts of criminal conspiracy. He was found not guilty on one count of possession of heroin.



Vasquez was found guilty of possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and seven counts of criminal conspiracy. She was found not guilty of two counts of possession with intent to deliver heroin and one count of possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine.



Rivera-Rivera faces up to 12 years in prison when sentenced.
