Description:

Christian A. Jessen and Ellen Rose, individually and on behalf of the
estate of Christian Jessen sued Chambersburg Hospital and Yin Keong Ngeow on a medical malpractice theory for the wrongful
death of Christian in 1999 at the Summit Health facility.
Christian was treated three times in June of 1999 for
virus-like symptoms before he was taken to the
Chambersburg Hospital where he was admitted on June 11, 1999.
The Plaintiff claimed that Dr. Ngeow at Chambersburg
caused a cardiac arrest that led to their son's death.

Outcome:
Plaintiffs' verdict for $2.5 million including
$500,000 for pain and suffering, $1.4 million for lost earnings during Christian’s lifetime, $100,000 that he might have used to support his parents during his life and $100,000 for “loss of services, physical comfort and society.”
