United States of America v. Jose Urena-Capellan

Harrisburg, PA criminal defense lawyer represented the Defendant charged with Drug Trafficking Offense



The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Jose Urena-Capellan, age 40, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was indicted by a federal grand jury on a drug trafficking offense.



According to Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus, the indictment charges Urena-Capellan with attempted possession with intent to distribute 400 grams and more of fentanyl in Franklin County, on July 30, 2025.



This case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Pennsylvania State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott Ford is prosecuting the case.



This case is part of Operation Take Back America (https://www.justice.gov/dag/media/1393746/dl?inline), a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. The maximum penalty under federal law for the offense is life imprisonment, a fine, and a period of supervised release following imprisonment. A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
