Milford, PA - Jury Votes To Impose Death Penalty For Killer To State Trooper
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania charged Eric Frein, age 33, with capital murder for shooting and killing one Pennsylvania state trooper and shooting with intent to kill another at the Blooming Grove barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police in the Pocono Mountains in 2004. Cpl. Bryon Dickson, II was killed and Trooper Alex Douglas was critically injured. Frein allegedly was attempting for cause an uprising.
Defendant did not testify and did not seek clemency. His attorney asked the jury to sentence him to life in prison without parole.
The defendant did not contest his guilt.
It is unlikely that Frein will ever be executed.
