Donya Perkins, age 18, was charged with shooting and killing Steve Smith on July 16, 2023.
Smith's, was found on July 16, 2023, in the 1000 block of Reese Avenue in Lima. That location is near the home of Perkins and his parents. A Lucas County medical examiner testified that Smith died of gunshot wounds that likely were the result of one projectile.
