Jamestown man going to prison for his role in narcotics conspiracy

Kyle Lewis, 33, of Jamestown, NY, who was convicted of narcotics conspiracy.



Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti, who handled the case, stated that Lewis sold heroin and fentanyl, which he received from co-defendants Holly Berenguer, Richard Philbrick, and Joseph Zaso. He used electronic media to carry out his drug trafficking activities, including Facebook and CashApp. In March, June, and July of 2022, investigators conducted five controlled purchases of narcotics from Lewis.



Defendants Berenguer, Philbrick, and Zaso were previously convicted and are awaiting sentencing.



This effort is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach. The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Jamestown Police Department, under the direction of Chief Timothy Jackson, the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Frank A. Tarentino III, New York Field Division, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, under the direction of Sheriff James Quattrone.
