Description:
Raleigh, North Carolina, criminal defense lawyer represented the Defendant charged with fraud and misuse of visas and other documents, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 1546.
Roberto Almeida-Santos, age 57, an illegal alien born in Mecisco confessed to knowingly making materially false statements under penalty of perjury on his application to obtain a U-Visa when he submitted it to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) in November of 2021. In response to the questions “Have you EVER committed a crime or offense for which you have not been arrested?” and “Have you EVER ordered, incited, called for, committed, assisted, helped with, or otherwise participated in any of the following:…[e]ngaging in any kind of sexual conduct or relations with any person who was being forced or threatened?” he answered “No.” This highlights the perverse nature of the immigration system. This evil spider lied to get a U-visa which is supposed to be given to victims of crime. This is yet another example of how the entire visa and illegal immigration scheme is flipped inside out, and the bad guys are looting it blind.
On December 17, 2024, in Randolph County, North Carolina Superior Court, Almeida was convicted of two counts of statutory sex offense with child 15 years of age or younger. He was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of between 16 and 25 years and ordered to register as a sex offender. He confessed to having committed the offenses from January 1, 2018, through January 1, 2020. The child victim he viciously sexually abused and raped was only 14 years old.
