Description:
Plaintiff's front end of her automobile struck the passenger's side of the Defendant's automobile after defendant turned into Plaintiff's path. This accident occured on 11/17/00 in St. Louis County, Missouri. Ms. Garrett suffered injuries to her right wrist and later experienced pain to her hip from the accident. Her injury to her wrist included a broken bone and a torn ligament resulting in the need for a surgery. Her complaints of pain to the hip persisted resulting in the need for prescription medication. Her past medical expenses were approximately $22,000. Defendant's insurance company initially argued that Defendant had the right of way and that Ms. Garrett failed to yield. Defendant also disputed the extent of Ms. Garrett's injuries. Eventually, the parties were able to settle the matter prior to a lawsuit being filed.
