Wendy Gossett sued Sherman Hospital on a negligence theory claiming the the Hospital's employees committed malpractice when they failed to keep track of the spunges used by her surgeon during a partial hysterectomy in June of 2000. As a direct result she had to have all of sex organs and part of her colon removed at age 27. She was suffers constant pain and had to have a morphine pump implanted in her abdomin.
Sherman Hospital admitted the mistake but claimed that Plaintiff's damage claims were exaggerated.
