The state complained that most of the computers had substandard or missing parts, and that it was overcharged by $50 per computer, or $500,000. The State sued CPC and Kolb on behalf of the state in 2004, seeking treble damages, or $1.75 million.
The defendants claimed that the State had made false claims about CPC and Kolb, and concluded that the state had breached the contract's covenant of good faith and fair dealing.
