New Haven, Connecticut, criminal defense lawyer represented the Defendant charged with threatening a federal law enforcement officer.

Hamilton Clark Smith, age 61, of Milford, sent a series of threatening text messages to a Deputy U.S. Marshal, including threats to harm and kill the Deputy U.S. Marshal, and to harm the Deputy U.S. Marshal’s family.

Smith was arrested on January 12, 2023, and was detained until February 16, 2023, when he was released on bond. On April 22, 2024, he pleaded guilty to making repeated harassing communications.

This investigation was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark.
