Description:
The city of Craig sought to acquire part of two lots owned by Sandra Baird on Stout Street. The property was needed to extend Industrial Avenue two blocks to make it a through street and a collector street for Victory Way traffic. Baird claimed that the property had a fair market value of $120,000 and the City claimed the entire property had a fair market value of $80,000. Baird claimed that the two lots at were worth $12,500 and the damage to the value of the property at $67,187.50 for a total of $79,687.50.

The jury awarded Baird $22,500 for the 6,250-square-foot parcel of land, $11,000 for the land and $11,500 for the decrease in value the property suffered by the loss of the two lots.
