Joseph Koenig, age 18, threw a rock off a hitting the car being driven by Alexa Bartell, age 20. The rock went through the windshield hitting her head and killing her.



Koenig was one of three defendants, but defendants Nicholas Karol-Chik and Zachary Kwak took plea deals, pleading guilty to lesser charges in exchange for agreeing to testify at Koenig's trial.
